THIS TOP PARAGRAPH IS A MAJOR UPDATE to my original review below.Since my first two sets, I have ordered 2 more. THEY WERE NOT THE SAME SHEETS! Not only that, they were of inferior quality, and the vendors are very uncooperative to work with. The most recent set was "lost in the mail" , , and the vendor did finally offer me my money back. I told them, "No, if you have the sheets I want the sheets." Then....they sent me the wrong sheets. They weren't TOO bad, so we decided to try them. Not really close, but I am doubtful that they will take them back now. I will get that vendor name soon and add it to this review. The third set purchased has been the worst. Having purchased so many sets of sheets over the last year from both Amazon and local retail I now feel like I have become somewhat of an expert. The sheets they sent were called Royal Hotel, and they were not even close to the quality of the right ones. The vendor is LGB8BeddingStore according to the return slip. Yes, they finally agreed to accept a return, although they swore that they were the right sheets. Ha! They don't know who they are dealing with. I'm the expert now. Well guess what, I took the form to the "sender of my choice", and was told it would cost me $36 to send the sheets back. What? Are you kidding me? For the wrong sheets? Then I told myself, "Dummy, you need to take it to an Amazon drop off point." Nope, they wouldn't take it. I guess next I will try to talk with Amazon directly and see if they will do anything. Considering how big a customer I am I would think they would. I will update if I make any progress. I really don't have time for this! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. If it doesn't say Impressions or Superior on the sheets, send them back!Original review.I hesitate to review these sheets, but now that I have two sets I will go ahead. My hesitation is because I hate seeing them become harder to get and seeing the price rise, which has happened lately. But basically, these are GREAT. My second set has just arrived, and my first ones have only been washed once, so I cannot attest to their longevity, but boy are they nice. We first slept on these at someone else's house and had to have some. Those carried the brand name "Impressions". In searching for that brand i discovered that these were those and now carry the name "Superior". We love the softness and that they are heavy and thick. Do not expect satiny smooth if that is what you want, but nice thick cotton. I continue to monitor the supply and current price. The price will vary by color according to supply and demand I guess. I would rather not pay full price, but the color we really want is not even available right now. I would like to buy more for our guest bed, but the supply is waning. To compare, at the same time as my first purchase I bought 2 other sets in local stores. I bought a 2000 thread-count "Egyptian cotton" set (all king) in Tuesday Morning for $60. Not even close. Almost as good as the Superior, however, was a set of Vera Wang from Kohls for $250 (normally $300). I would recommend the Vera Wang if they are on sale or you have some Kohls coupons or credit, and you can't wait on these. Our previous sheets which we upgraded from (and are now on our guest bed) are the high-end sheets available at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
